root.paranode.net, our main hub, was replaced by a new box yesterday.

The server kimono.paranode.net died unexpectedly because the host was moving the machine to a different rack within the same building. The machine is back up now and should not experience any more downtime.

As of today all newly registred nicks as well as all already registred users have NickServ's KILL option disabled.

You are free to enable it again if you like.

While part of the network was experiencing netsplits due to power problems at the Dutch Internet Exchange, we took the opportunity to move the Anope irc services back to its original server, root.paranode.net.

From now on services should stay online during netsplits, reducing the annoyances of services disconnecting and reconnecting to the network, resulting in massive nickchanges.
